Stadstat
Stadstat is a Dutch initiative, bringing the popular american methods Compstat (US Police) and Citistat (Baltimore) to The Netherlands.
This initiative aims to shorten the distance between (local) government and citizens, resulting in a more agile response from (local) politics to signals from the community. Statistical information (tables, graphs, maps) are used as a basis.
The first example of Stadstat can be found on the internet website of the city of Amsterdam: Stadstat Amsterdam.
Stadstat Amsterdam aims to give citizens insight in the (measurable) results of its government (transparency).
Wethouder Lodewijk Asscher (Amsterdam) on Stadstat: "A beautiful system. More openness on our achievements will hopefully make citizens of Amsterdam speak up if things don't go well. Which should lead to better results.".
